The Notes Between : Songwriting and Singing Mentorship Program
Currently , I'm delighted to announce my official songwriting mentoring scheme 'The Notes Between' , a special and tailor made program either online or in person aimed at developing your songs whether you're an aspiring artist , or someone with a creative voice. My mentees have ranged from classical pianists to architects to people with stories to tell. Together we develop a plan to develop your music, artists voice and choose a direction . It could be your very own EP, your music you wish to revisit. Finally, potential students recording their album have the opportunity to record in Athens, Greece with me as your producer and arranger ,and in. the capable hands of one of the most sought after producers and musicians in Athens AUX STUDIOS .

Celia Quartermain
Celia has worked in the creative industries for more than five decades. Her journey has taken her from youth and community theatre, through documentary making for tv and cinema, to arts features for BBC Radio 3 and 4, culminating in a series of novels waiting for a publisher. There is a story at the centre of everything she does and this holds true in her latest venture into songwriting. I'm incredibly humbled to have been able to mentor, produce and release her very first album. It's a powerful collection of folk - anthems that ring loud with truth, empowerment and humanity. I'll never forget her first reaction when , having flown from London and walking with me towards AUX Studio in Exarchia Athens , glancing round she said " Am I really here? Is this really happening?
Celia writes :" In November 2022 I found I was losing my voice so I contacted Lara Eidi Lara, a wonderful award-winning and acclaimed artist, songwriter and educator had given me some singing lessons in London in the past and together we set about working on the problem. Lara had moved back to her native Athens so ours was a remote workspace, but that was no problem under her unique programme. Called The Notes Between, Lara runs tailor-made programs for singers, songwriters, artists and creatives. It is open to all, so I signed up for a series of one-to-one sessions. Now, after two years under her mentorship, as well as a glorious trip to AUX Studios in Athens to record the work, the project is now complete. The Whale and Other Journeys, an album of songs written and sung by me under Lara’s mentorship and with her arrangement, orchestration, and production will be released in early 2025. This is an experience like no other , which I highly recommend !The timing of this couldn’t be ignored, and Lara, an artist who has an intuitive way of working that can create meaning even in the darkest of times, encouraged me to use my voice, reminding me of music’s ability make sense of something so senseless.

Lara is the most terrific singer songwriter I have ever met in my life.Since we met for the first time in London I was amazed by her own music style and her musical knowledge.I was fascinated by her love towards different kind of music and talk with her about all kind of music was always so inspiring.As a musician I had a background both in classical and jazz music but meeting her was very important for my musical journey. "Lara is the most wonderful singing and songwriting teacher and I thoroughly look forward to our lessons each week. She has a real talent for demystifying musical theory which is great for someone like me who lacks background in that area.Lara brings empathy and emotion to every class, which has made me feel connected to the songs I’m learning.
